Wilson Alberto Cuesta Hoyos, is a Physician Assistant from Miami Dade College. He was born and raised in Colombia where he became a physician and surgeon in 1990 at the National University of Colombia in Bogota. He completed a one-year internship at the Fundación Santa Fe in Bogota, one of the most well-known healthcare institutions in South America. For the next ten years he practiced at his own general medicine practice while at the same time worked as an Emergency Physician at the Fundación Santa Fe. He moved to the United Sates in 2000, and then became certified by the Educational Commission of Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in July 2007. He went back to school at Miami Dade College’s program of Physician Assistant and became a certified Physician Assistant.
Wilson is a married man, parent of a daughter, a Dietitian and currently a Catholic Missionary, and has a son who is a student at the University of Florida. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family and participating in outdoor activities. He is passionate about teaching.
